Visiting a religious celebration in Fátima is of course the highlight of the trip for many. There are ceremonies throughout the year and special ones around the 13th of each month. The most important take place in May and October. From November to Easter: On the 13th there is an international Rosary in the Little Chapel at 10:00, with the procession following at 10:45. From Easter to the end of October: On the 12th at 07:30 there is the Way of the Cross to Valinhos and Eucharist, with masses in the Basilica in Portuguese at 07:30, 09:00, 11:00 and 12:30. At the Little Chapel there are Masses in German at 07:30, English at 08:30, French at 09:30, Spanish at 10:30, Dutch at 11:30, Italian at 12:30 and Polish at 13:30. 16:30 - There is a Mass in which the sick participate, followed by the Eucharistic Procession. On the 13th there is a night vigil from midnight until 07:00 and then a Eucharistic Procession. 09:00 - International Rosary is held in the Little Chapel During the entire year the Little Chapel has services every day. After Easter until the end of October: English Mass is held at 15:30 on Mondays to Fridays, on Sundays there is a Rosary at 16:00 and on Saturdays there is a Salutation to Mary at 17:00. There is a Rosary at 18:30. Mass is celebrated in Spanish at 19:15 . At 21:30 there is a Rosary and a candlelight procession and on Thursdays at this time there is a procession of the Blessed Sacrament. From November to Easter: Mass is held at 12:30 (on Sundays, holy days and the thirteenth this is held in the Basilica). On Saturdays, Sundays and holy days at 14:00 there is an hour of Reparation and on Sundays and holy days a Rosary is celebrated at 16:00. On Mondays through Friday there is a Rosary service at 18:30 and until Advent, and every Saturday from December to Lent, it is held at 21:30, followed by a candlelight procession. |
