Seville Climate |
It’s needless to say that Seville is one of Spain’s hottest cities. Located in the southern region of Andalusia, sunny days and warm nights are all part of why this enchanting Spanish city is cherished by so many travellers. In Seville, hot means very hot. With 13 hours of sunlight per day during most of the summer, don’t be surprised if the thermometer rises over 35ºC. August is undoubtedly the warmest month of the year and is when most travellers visit this city. Whether you’re visiting Seville’s Cathedral and Giralda Bell Tower, admiring the city’s architecture or enjoying fun water rides at the Isla Mágica amusement park, be sure to dress appropriately for the heat and apply plenty of sun cream. As autumn approaches, temperatures commonly reduce from mid 30ºC’s to 20ºC’s. By November, 7 hours of daylight can be expected and the intense heat tends to tone down. Explore the outdoor atmosphere of Seville - rent a bike and ride throughout the beautiful María Luisa Park, visit the Alcázar of Seville or plan to see a bullfight between September and October. Days get shorter and nights can get chilly during the winter. With 6-7 hours of sunlight throughout the season, temperatures settle between 5ºC and 15ºC. Never too hot, nor too cold, this city is great for travellers who want to experience a relatively warmer winter holiday. After a visit to this city’s museums and art galleries, be sure to enjoy some great “tapas” while the city closes its eyes for a traditional “siesta”. Temperatures will increase from March to May, as well as the number of sunlight hours. In May, degrees will oscillate between an average of 15ºC and 25ºC’s. Spring is a wonderful season to be in Seville because of its moderate heat and balanced climate. See the ancient ruins of Itálica, the Plaza de España or go for a typical horse and carriage ride that this city is renowned for.
