Don’t forget your T-shirt. Tenerife is no stranger to the sun. The north of the island is pleasantly mild for most of the year while the south warms without ever quite overheating. Mount Teide shelters the north from solar intensity and the south is rather less protected – which means you should be extra vigilant in applying sun cream.
Although Spanish by nationality, Tenerife avoids the extreme summers of the Iberian Peninsula. It does, however, enjoy a subtropical climate thanks to its proximity to Africa.
