Porto Santo Golf

Porto Santo’s appealing beach and weather are not the sole reasons for this small island’s attraction. Ally these two factors to a spectacular golf course designed by Spanish golfing champion, Severiano Ballesteros and golf lovers have yet another ingredient for a fabulous holiday in the sun.

Porto Santo’s golf club opened in 2004 and stretches from the low-lying southern coast to the imposing basalt cliffs of the north, covering an area of 6,434 metres. This challenging par 72 golf course is set in spectacular landscape and is divided into two parts: the south course is interspersed with lakes requiring a precise long game, while the north cliff-top course resembles British links courses and provides breathtaking views of the rugged coastline. Holes 13, 14 and 15 will go down in memory!

In addition to the full-length course, there is a 9-hole pitch and putt and a driving range.

The modern clubhouse has been tastefully designed to blend well into the surrounding countryside and offers splendid views over the greens and lake. In addition to its two restaurants, other facilities include Jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish baths.
