Madrid Climate |
The graphs below show the average high and low temperatures felt in Madrid and the sunlight hours throughout the year. The days are shorter in winter, from November to January, and the average longest days are in July. This also represents the coolest and warmest months, although not much difference is felt between the end of June to mid-August. Madrid has a climate of extremes, described as nine months of winter and three of hell (nueves meses de invierno y tres de infierno), although a slight exaggeration is applied. The reason for this is that Madrid is the highest capital in Europe located on the meseta, or highland plateau, which makes for very hot summers and cold winters. Precipitation is low, particularly from June through to September. The wettest months are March, April, May, October, November and December, with an average of 47 mm of rain. These are extremely low quantities of rain; Madrid is known to have a low humidity level and quite a dry climate. ![]() Temperatura Média Cº
